Shopping Spree, Phase 2
Shopping Spree, Phase 2 was happily concluded on Saturday, December 21st at Fred Meyer's in Ballard. Paul Sivesind, Val Gaifoulline, and Eva Dunn are all smiles. Thanks to all the Ballard Rotarians who helped make the holidays special for disadvantaged students!
Ringing the Bells for Salvation Army
On Saturday, December 14th, club members supported the work of the Salvation Army by ringing the bells for donations to the familiar red bucket of the Salvation Army in front of Fred Meyer's in Ballard. Wearing special Rotary aprons provided by the Salvation Army, the ringers attracted over $500 in donations from shoppers.

Rotarians Turn Out for Shopping Spree
On Saturday, December 7th, a large number of club members gathered at Fred Meyer's in Ballard, eager to participate in the Shopping Spree for kids in need. Through a combination of minor miscommunication issues, only about 50% of the expected students showed up. So while Rotarians had fun with the 15 or so kids that arrived that morning, Bev Washburn reports that a Shopping Spree redux will happen this coming weekend to take care of the remaining students.

Successful Autumn Hygiene Drive!
On Saturday, October 26th, Rotary Club of Ballard had another successful Hygiene Drive in Ballard, proceeds donated to the Ballard Food Bank. Ballard Rotarians (and their family and friends) helped manned two locations in Ballard, Bartell's Drugs at 15th NW & Market and at Ballard Commons, to accept donations. The collection garnered a total of six large barrels of hygiene items, plus numerous boxes of items as well. Thanks to all who volunteered, and to Bartell's Drugs, and to all contributors. You all made it a great success!
