- Topic: Seattle/Bergen Norway Sister City Association
- Notes: Seattle, Washington, and Bergen, Norway, established a sister city relationship in 1967 as part of a broader initiative to promote international understanding and citizen diplomacy. Bergen, Norway’s second-largest city, is a cosmopolitan hub of trade, shipping, oil production, research, and education, often called the “City of Seven Mountains,” while Seattle is known as the “City of Seven Hills” and serves as a gateway to Alaska and Asia. The Seattle-Bergen Sister City Association (SBSCA) coordinates exchanges and programs between the two cities. It organizes cultural events, educational exchanges, tours to Scandinavia, Norwegian film showings, and social and political forums. Lori Ann Reinhall is the immediate past president of the SBSCA, having led the organization for 12 years.
