March 10, 2026: Chip Hauss on Peacebuilding
March 10 @ 12:30 pm - 1:00 pm

TIME: 12:00 Noon
LOCATION: Zoom
Tune in on March 10th to hear from a Rotarian who encourages us to care about working for peace. Chip Hauss, a Rotarian in northern Virginia and a member of the Alliance for Peacebuilding as well as Rotarians for Civic Participation, will talk about the work the Alliance for Peacebuilding is doing. A lot of it involves Rotary in general and initiatives under way in Rotary District 7610 (northern Virginia). The Alliance for Peacebuilding collaborates with Rotarians for Civic Participation, former Rotary Peace Fellows, and other Rotary partners like the Institute for Economics and Peace.
The Alliance for Peacebuilding (AfP), named the “number one influencer and change agent” among peacebuilding institutions worldwide, is an award-winning nonprofit and nonpartisan network of 270+ organizations working in 181 countries to prevent and reduce violent conflict and build sustainable peace. AfP cultivates a network to strengthen and advance the peacebuilding field, enabling peacebuilding organizations to achieve greater impact—tackling issues too large for any one organization to address alone.
Charles “Chip” Hauss has spent fifty years as an author, activist, and mentor. He currently serves as Senior Fellow for Innovation at AfP and is the lead editor of AfP ‘s book series, Peace and Security in the Twenty-First Century, for which he wrote the lead volume. He helps lead the AfP’s Peacebuilding Starts at Home initiative, which addresses problems that cross issue-based and ideological lines. He is the author of nineteen books on peacebuilding and comparative politics.
