SUMMARY:21 February 2023 - Kristin Orloff - Lifting the Veil from 1979 Iran: The Untold Stories
DESCRIPTION:21 February 2023 – Kristin Orloff – Lifting the Veil from 1979 Iran: The Untold Stories\n \nTIME: Noon\nLOCATION: Ristorante Picolinos \nAuthor and educator Kristin Orloff will tell us the spell-binding story of Reza Abedi and his daring 1979 escape from Iran. Reza survived the 1979 Revolution and made international news when he defected\, with the help of brave American wrestlers\, during the World Wrestling Tournament in 1982. A gold medal wrestler\, Reza’s inspiring life celebrates honor\, family and freedom. After he led bloody battles in the 1979 Iranian Revolution and served in the Air Force\, Reza desired a fate beyond the suffocating suppression of Ayatollah Khomeini’s Iran. Beyond the images of the blindfolded American hostages and the bearded cleric Ayatollah Khomeini\, there are millions of men\, women and children who desire to live with freedom and dignity. This story is their voice. \nKristin Orloff holds a Master’s Degree in Education and a B.A. in Language Arts. She currently serves as a school site administrator and project manager for her local college. She has published several works\, mentors young writers\, and is an active member of her local writing community. \nFor a preview of the story: https://www.Americanwingsiranianroots.com \nPay for your lunch ahead of time!\nhttps://swipesimple.com/links/lnk_b87ba1c5
