SUMMARY:January 21\, 2025: Real Escape from the Sex Trade (REST)
DESCRIPTION:TIME: Noon\nLOCATION: Sunset Hill Community Center \nJoin us in learning about the non-profit Real Escape from the Sex Trade (REST). When REST started in 2009\, the majority of organizations turned away sex trafficking victims because the trauma experience was too complex and the symptoms too overwhelming. The implication was that survivors didn’t deserve exit services\, and non-profit REST disagreed! As gaps were discovered in existing services\, REST committed to building them\, always informed by the people they served. This relationship-first and needs-based model has driven REST’s growth. From early outreach to building relationships\, REST has evolved into a vital service provider\, offering survivor-centered\, trauma-informed services for hundreds exploited in the sex trade annually. Learn about the scope of this problem in our area\, and the work REST is doing to address it. \nPay for your lunch ahead of time: (Lunch Ticket for 1)\nhttps://swipesimple.com/links/lnk_8f18fd72
