Bob Davidson became president and CEO of the Seattle Aquarium in 2010 and guided the Aquarium’s successful transition to nonprofit management. He also played a key role in the $41.5-million public/private New Currents Aquarium expansion in 2007\, which made Seattle the country’s ninth-largest aquarium by attendance. And he led the Aquarium in its historic 2024 Ocean Pavilion expansion. Before joining the Aquarium\, Davidson was a leader in the $40-million project to revitalize Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo as co-initiator of Mayor Royer’s Zoo Commission\, board president of the Woodland Park Zoological Society and executive director/CEO of the Zoo. He is the recipient of a McCarthy Bridge to College Success Grant at Renton Technical College. His decision to leave Somalia was shaped in part by the desire to live free from the constant threat of violence\, intimidation\, and death. His journey took him through Somalia\, Kenya\, Turkey\, Ecuador\, Colombia\, Panama\, Costa Rica\, Guatemala\, Honduras\, and Mexico\, before he reached the United States. Come and listen to his remarkable story of the perils\, challenges\, and uncertainties of his journey as an asylum-seeker.

Alex\, MA\, CDC\, founding Director of Matt Talbot Center\, a long-standing Seattle non-profit organization that operates a substance abuse treatment program and offers support\, rehabilitative and restorative services to Seattle’s homeless\, addicted and mentally ill populations. Established in 1985\, the Matt Talbot Center (MTC) is located in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood. The program’s primary goals are to restore participants to healthy lives\, and to encourage them to take responsibility for their actions and family obligations. Mr. Alex holds a Master’s Degree from the School of Theology and Ministry at Seattle University and has obtained certificates in Chemical Dependency Counseling and Executive Leadership.
