Rose is the Executive Director of Precious Tears Initiative in western Kenya\, a non-profit organization working in education\, mental health\, and community development. DESCRIPTION:Sign up for the shift of your pleasure: Edible Hope: Volunteer Sign Up. \nWhat: Volunteer at the Edible Hope Kitchen\nWhen: Any weekday between 10/20 and 10/31\, 7 AM to Noon\nWhere: St Paul’s United Church of Christ\, 6512 12th Ave NW in Ballard \nOur club’s community project for October is volunteering at Edible Hope Kitchen. This service project will not be a group project on a single day\, rather it will be individual participation spread out over a number of days. Edible Hope Kitchen needs helpers between 10/20 and 10/31. Our members can sign up for any weekday (M-F) in those two weeks. \nVolunteers serve food/drinks to guests as well and cook and prep food. Food is served from 8AM-10AM. Volunteers are welcome from 7AM-12 Noon and can stay for the hours that work for them. Drop by for 30 minutes before work and help set up tables\, or spend the whole five hours chugging away! It is located at St Paul’s United Church of Christ\, 6512 12th Ave NW in Ballard\, and parking is available on site.

She writes fiction and poetry and has worked as a writer and editor for various publications as well as technology companies. Karen’s articles appear in a variety of news\, trade\, and literary publications and websites\, and you can find her work online and on podcasts. Her writing styles range from buttoned-down and corporate to offbeat and provocative. She works with publishers\, editors\, and event producers in the fiction field to develop websites\, magazines\, anthologies\, podcasts\, and streaming content. In her new book\, “Patti 20: Fifteen Tales of the Very Near Future”\, she uses short-form speculative fiction that focuses on families\, secrets\, and transformations.  Susan was part of the arts team that redesigned the interiors and exteriors of the Seattle-area METRO buses\, is a past president of the board of directors of Northwest Folklife\, and is a current member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association (SFWA).
